Black Diamonds at D.Bachet: A Signature Since 2004
Since 2004, black diamonds have been at the heart of D.Bachet’s identity. The contrast between black and white diamonds defines our wedding bands, rings, signet rings and contemporary jewelry creations. It is one of the foundations of our aesthetic.
An aesthetic built around the contrast of black and white
At D.Bachet, black diamonds are part of an architectural approach to jewelry design. While white diamonds reflect light, black diamonds create depth and emphasize volume.
In a women’s or men’s black diamond wedding band, they define the line and emphasize its precision.
In a platinum black diamond ring, they intensify the presence of the center diamond and transform the visual balance of the solitaire.
In a men’s signet ring, they create a striking dialogue with the volume of the metal.
In a pendant and necklace or bracelet, they add graphic depth.
Black reveals the structure. White reveals the light. The D.Bachet aesthetic is built on this balance.

Black diamonds in our collectionsAt D.Bachet, black diamonds are not simply a detail. They are considered from the very first stages of the design process. Rather than simply accompanying light, they redefine its contours. Combined with white diamonds, they create a structural contrast. They define a line, emphasize an edge and add depth to a polished surface. In a wedding band, an engagement ring or a signet ring, they transform the perception of volume. On a bracelet or a pair of cufflinks, they introduce graphic depth that emphasizes the architecture of the piece. Black does not replace light. It reveals it differently. This tension lies at the heart of the D.Bachet aesthetic. |

The exacting craftsmanship behind black diamondsThe black diamonds used by D.Bachet are natural diamonds with an original brown or gray color, heat-treated to achieve a deep, uniform black. Their surface absorbs more light than that of a white diamond. This characteristic requires rigorous selection and precise calibration. In every D.Bachet creation, the balance of the design depends on the quality of each stone. The traditional 4Cs are not applied to black diamonds in the same way because of their opacity. To select them, D.Bachet uses a specific grading scale ranging from A to AAA, assessing the quality of the cut, polish and symmetry. Only AAA-grade black diamonds - meeting the highest standards for these three criteria - are selected. Setting black diamonds requires great precision and expertise. The intensity of their color immediately reveals the accuracy of the setting and the overall harmony of the piece. All our diamonds are sourced in accordance with the Kimberley Process. |

Why choose a black diamond wedding band?
Choosing a black diamond wedding band brings a more architectural dimension to the design. The depth of black emphasizes the lines of the metal and creates a bold contrast with platinum or gold.
On a men’s wedding band, black diamonds emphasize geometry and presence.
On a women’s wedding band, they bring a controlled, contemporary intensity.
Black diamonds give the wedding band a distinctive, structured aesthetic designed to endure over time.
